====== Tabletop receivers by Kenwood, Trio Kenwood Electronic Inc. ====== The first shortwave receivers from Trio were in Europe also sold under the brands **Jennen** and **Lafayette**. The shortwave receiver 9R-59DS, launched in 1968, soon became very popular, the shortwave receivers R-1000, R-2000 and R-5000 set standards. Among radio amateurs, the "Twins" receiver R-599 / transmitter T-599 are still appreciated as oldies; a variety of amateur radio transceivers improved the reputation of Trio - Kenwood until today. Around 1980 the brand name Kenwood was used more widely, in 1986 the company was renamed Kenwood Corporation and in 1996 the addition "Trio-" was dropped altogether. ===== Trio-Kenwood / Kenwood Co. tabletop receivers ===== |9R-59|approx. 1961|Single conversion|550 kHz - 30 MHz|AM / CW, analogue dial with bandspread on ham bands| | |9R-59DS|1969|Single conversion|550 kHz - 30 MHz|AM / CW, 4 kHz filter, analogue dial with bandspread on ham bands|| |R-599|1970|Double conversion|160 - 10m - Ham bands|AM / USB/LSB, FM; linear analogue display|| |QR-666|1974|Double conversion|170-410 & 550 kHz - 30 MHz|AM / CW, analogue dial with bandspread on ham bands|| |R-300|1976 - 1979|Double conversion|170-410 & 550 kHz - 30 MHz|AM / CW, analogue dial with bandspread on ham bands|| |R-820|1978|Double conversion|6 ham and 5 broadcast shortwave bands|AM / USB/LSB, digital display 0.1 kHz, PBT, notch, NB|| |R-600|1982|Triple conversion|500 kHz - 30 MHz|AM / USB/LSB, digital display 1 kHz; 6 / 2.7 kHz IF filters|| |R-1000|1979|Double conversion|200 kHz - 30 MHz|AM / USB/LSB, digital display 1 kHz; 12 / 6 / 2.7 kHz IF filters|| |R-2000|1983|Triple conversion|150 kHz - 30 MHz|AM / USB/LSB, FM, digital display 0.1 kHz; 6 / 2.7 kHz IF filters, 10 memories|| |R-5000|1987|Triple conversion|100 kHz - 30 MHz|AM / USB/LSB, FM, digital display 10 Hz; 6 / 2 kHz filter, PBT, notch, NB, 100 memories, direct frequency input|| ===== Wide Band Receivers by Kenwood Co. ===== |RZ-1|1988|Triple conversion|500 kHz - 905 MHz|AM / USB/LSB, FM n/w, digital display 5 kHz, 100 memories||
