====== Grundig Satellite 210 ====== Manufactured by [[Grundig, Fürth]]. In contrast to the earlier [[Satellit 205]], the [[Satellit 208]] and 210 came with double conversion circuitry, now also the 13- and 11-m broadcast bands are covered. With the button SW Band-Spread it is possible to switch from general coverage (for example 5-7.7 MHz) to a bandspread (5.95 - 6.25 MHz) range in every section of the turret tuner. The [[BFO]] add-on no longer needs to be installed in the cabinet, but it can be connected with a cable to an accessories socket. The Grundig **Satellite 210**, international designation **Transistor 6001**, has the dimensions of 44 x 26 x 13 cm and a weight of 6.1 kg and is portable "sensu strictu". The separate power supply TN12a or the charging power supply TN14 (which is also used to charge the Dryfit battery 476) is located inside the set, which can alternatively be operated with batteries. The dials for FM, LW, MW and KW1 with the tropical broadcast bands is mounted on the right side of the front panel, to the left of it the band spread dial of the turret tuner for the shortwave bands. At the right edge, one above the other, are the on/off switch, the battery/field strength meter switch, the fine tuning control for SW band 1 and the tuning knob are located. {{ :images:grundig-satellit210-controls.jpg?400|Grundig Satellite 210}} The volume control, the separate bass and treble tone controls, an aerial trimmer, the switch for shortwave bandspread and activation of the tweeter speaker are located on the top of the radio under the carrying handle. Behind the "bar" with these controls, the pushbuttons for range selection and PU operation are also located on the top of the unit. The double conversion receiver is a solid performer and the major international foreign broadcasters can be tuned. The frequency can be set with an accuracy of 10 - 20 kHz in the spread bands, in the general coverage bands the frequency can only be roughly estimated, for station identification you have to rely on the interval signal and spoken identification. The dial accuracy is insufficient to tune a station on a known frequency, small coloured sliding plastic tabs are a small help to tune in again a known station.
