Description

The RME 9 Comms receiver is from 1932 and makes use of the 2A5. see Moore, Comm's. Receivers.

* RMA/JEDEC register record available by courtesy of TCA* - This tube was already listed by several manufacturers when RMA started its standardization in 1934. In order to characterize popular receiving types, manufacturers were asked to supply average characteristics as measured on production lots. Here are the filled answer forms supplied by Radio Valve Co., Raytheon, Sparton, Triad, Tung Sol, Ken Rad, Hytron and Arcturus. Full record is downloadable here. A Pilot brand 2A5 has been located which has an S 17 bulb, Most have an St14 bulb.
