The R-390 general - purpose receiver has been developed by Collins, but later has been produced for the needs of the Armed Forces and official users by various contractors. Some of them did produce the set to match the same specifications in their own plants, some of them did simply buy some sets from Collins or EAC and did have them rebadged, after it turned out, that production of such a set did surpass their capabilities.
