Accessories
Operation
The RF Signal generator is built into a cast aluminium cabinet. Due to its weight of 50 kg, the strong handles on the sides are necessary to lift the set on the workbench.
The frequency can be set on a linear dial, the entire frequency range of 1.39 - 510 MHz is covered in twelve sub-ranges. The signal can be amplitude modulated by an internal AF generator or an external signal source; the degree of modulation is adjustable up to 95 %. Frequency modulation from the internal AF signal generator or an external signal is also possible, and the set comes with a stereo coder to provide stereo signals. The signal generator can be used in synchronistion with an external frequency standard.
The level of the RF output can be adjusted from 0.03 μV to 1 V or - 20 dBμV to + 120 dBμV; it is fed to a Dezifix B connector; an adapter for this R&S-typical connector is useful for everyday use.
The set has an internal AF generator for frequencies from 10 Hz to 100 kHz, the signal is fed to a BNC socket and is also used for internal modulation of the AM and FM signal.
Technical principle
RF signal generator, amplitude modulation 0 - 95 %, frequency modulation 0 - ± 30 / 100 / 300 kHz, built-in AF signal generator
Components
The set is equipped with 14 tubes.
